I have wanted to start a blog for a while now because I know it can be something my children can look back on and remember all the times we shared together as a family, know how much I love them, and be able to see it all in their mother’s own words. I kept putting it off because it felt more and more overwhelming to try and fit our past 4+ years into a few pages, but I have decided to throw that to the wind and start from the present. There's no other time like it, right?
First of all, I have to give a special homage for my mother, without her I would not be here or be the person and mom I am today. She was one of the most treasured people in my life. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004 and with the grace of God was in remission for almost 5 years. Unfortunately, after some pain in her side she discovered the cancer had spread to her bones and liver in 2009. After a brave and strong battle for two and a half years, she lost her fight against cancer on July 12, 2011. I thank God for the time I did have to spend with her. She was and will always be the most amazing, strongest, courageous, selfless, most beautiful person I have ever known. She was the most amazing mother, my best friend and confidant and there is definitely a void in my life without her in it.

Before I can ramble on about my sweet family, I thought I would give a quick look at where it all started. Ben and I met in 2003 while I was in college. Our first date almost didn’t happen. He says I stood him up and I say it was a misunderstanding, but long story short we happened to run into each other again and ended up going out the next night. The rest as they say is history. We were married November 18th, 2006. We received a hand painted sign at one of our wedding showers that read “Wiggins Family est. 2006” that we placed in our kitchen, and that of course is where I got the title for this blog. We enjoyed married life together for a little over 2 years and then two became three on January 20th, 2009 when we welcomed our daughter, Liddie Grace into our lives. Then 3 became 4 when Brady Dene arrived on February 19th, 2012. The "Dene" is after my mom, Bardene. My mom always told me “you will never know a mothers love until you have a child of your own”, and I cannot think of anything more true than this. It’s incredible how instant and strong the love you feel for your child is as soon as they are born. Liddie and Brady are amazing, they are the love of Ben and my life. You forget how tiny newborns are. Brady was almost 10 lbs, but he made Liddie seem huge when we went home. I no longer had a toddler, but a little girl and I'm not sure when that happened.
